James Jackson brings passion and dedication to his role as a 1st-grade teacher at Holy Family Catholic School. A graduate of Carlow University with a degree in Elementary Education, James has been an integral part of the HFCS community for two years. Prior to joining Holy Family, he spent eight years teaching Kindergarten, where he was recognized with a team building award.
For James, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is the opportunity to make a significant impact on his students' lives every day. His teaching philosophy revolves around recognizing the unique abilities, learning styles, and backgrounds of each child. James is committed to providing every student with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, tailoring his instructional strategies to meet their individual needs.
Creating a warm, safe, and supportive classroom environment is paramount to James. He believes that when students feel valued and supported, they thrive both socially and academically. Beyond the classroom, James is actively involved in various extracurricular activities at HFCS. He serves as the head coach of the girls' varsity basketball team, leads the track and cross country teams, coaches the developmental basketball team, and assists Mrs. Glenwright with student government.
James finds great fulfillment in teaching at a Catholic school, where students not only receive a quality education but also deepen their understanding of God's role in their lives. He is committed to instilling not only academic knowledge but also moral values in his students, ensuring they leave his classroom not only smarter but also better individuals.
Outside of school, James enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his amazing wife and two boys who also attend HFCS. He has a passion for golfing, building Legos, and exploring new places, having visited 40 states and 19 countries.
