Solimar Ricca Iorio brings a wealth of cultural diversity and educational experience to her role as a Spanish Teacher at Holy Family Catholic School. Originally from Guárico State, Venezuela, Solimar earned her business administration degree in 1998 in Caracas, Venezuela. She furthered her education at the University of California, PA, where she obtained a master's degree in technology education. Solimar holds two K–12 Spanish certificates and a General Business secondary 9-12 certificate.
Joining the Holy Family School community in 2020-2021, Solimar previously worked online for John Hopkins University in the Spanish program for gifted students, CTY/John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, for about four years.
In her Spanish classes, Solimar is dedicated to creating an inclusive and meaningful learning environment where students' comprehensive development is encouraged. She emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and autonomy while fostering a love for the Hispanic language and culture. Each class becomes a window into a world rich in history, traditions, music, literature, and more, allowing students to immerse themselves in learning and discover new ways of communicating and relating to the world

Interesting fact, Solimar cherishes her upbringing in Guárico State, Venezuela, where she was born and raised. With a father from Sicily, Italy, and a mother from Venezuela, Solimar enjoyed a rich cultural heritage and upbringing surrounded by a supportive family. Weekends were often spent at the family farm, riding horses and enjoying nature.
Outside of her professional life, Solimar is blessed to be married to Don Iorio. She is the proud parent of two wonderful daughters, Giuseppina and Donatella. Family is the heart of everything she does.
