Thank you for your interest in Holy Family Catholic School! Choosing Holy Family means choosing an exemplary educational experience that recognizes and encourages the individuality of every single child in a faith-based environment. From preschool through grade 8, whether at our Oakmont (ages 3-5) or Plum (age 3-grade 8) Campus, Holy Family is committed to nurturing every student to help him/her achieve his/her personal best. We facilitate this by ensuring:
a student-to-faculty ratio that maintains the attention and care that each child deserves from teachers who all are highly qualified and experienced in their disciplines;
a top-notch curriculum that integrates Christ-centered values;
and an array of extracurricular activities that helps each child to become well-rounded leaders;
a strong school community that embraces our school families; and
protocols to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of our students and faculty.
Our faculty and curriculum empower students to excel during and after their time with Holy Family; they consistently achieve an average of two or more levels above national grade-level expectations in the core content areas, and by the time they depart from HFCS after grade 8, some students achieve at grade level equivalents of 13+ (reading), 10.2 (math), 11.9 (science), and 12.6 (social studies). Holy Family teachers are all highly qualified in accordance with PA certification credentials, stay abreast of emerging technology and pedagogical approaches, and are committed to supporting our students to meet and exceed rigorous academic standards. In accordance with the Diocese of Pittsburgh, HFCS incorporates STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) with a “Continuous Growth” model of education that helps every child to advance based on their own needs and abilities.
Through Service Learning, an array of opportunities to become involved, and explicit modeling of compassionate, traditional values grounded in moral courage and faith, we help every student to learn to successfully navigate current society as they develop their own identities and leadership skills. Holy Family provides a wide variety of year-round activities and events not only for students, but for our school families. Students may choose from a range of sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Families are invited to meet and develop lifelong friendships with one another at any number of annual traditions, such as our Bonfire, Duck Race, and so much more.
This sense of community is vital to us, and we work hard to protect and preserve it. To this end, Holy Family places the utmost value on the safety and emotional wellbeing of our students and faculty. From physical security to emergency preparedness and anti-bullying programs, our school and diocesan administrators take every precaution to ensure the security of our facility and the safety of our students and our faculty.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. We invite you to explore all that Holy Family has to offer, and we hope to welcome your family into our family!
